A bit about Pretty Poison
Pretty Poison is a brand-new story, set in a brand-new location in Vermont. This mystery uses two timelines.
Present day: Annie Banks works at a living history museum in Shelburne in the antique textile department. She finds a letter sewn into a purse by a woman who names her killer. Intrigued, Annie begins to investigate what might be a 100+ year-old murder.
Late 19th Century: Camille Lachance is a couture bead embroiderer, working for Vermont’s only boutique ladies’ design shop. Supporting herself and her grandmother, who is suffering from dementia, Camille is desperate to keep her job. But how can she turn a blind eye to the unethical and dangerous practices the design house employs, which are making its workers sick? A spurned lover makes life more difficult, and possibly more dangerous . . .
This novel has flavors of the Tayt Waters Mysteries and Let the Dead Rest, my other dual timeline novel.
