Welcome, it’s nice to see you . . .
Whether we’ve met in real life at a book show, library event, or bookstore signing, or only online, I’m happy you’re here.
In my monthly’ish newsletters, I share behind-the-scenes glimpses into my writing work, observations about bookish things, and the occasional book giveaway.
I hope you’ll subscribe so we can stay in touch.
About Me
I’m a reader, first and foremost. I’ve loved stories since I was old enough to understand them. I remember begging my big sister to re-read There’s a Monster at the End of This Book, over and over again. Even then, I guess I was attracted to scary books!
I began writing when I was a kid and used to create “books” that were illustrated with crayons and stapled together. My first actual novel, Epidemic, was published in 2013, many, many years and failed attempts later.
I live in Vermont with my husband, son, and a cat who should have been named Jekyll and Hyde. I’m an imperfect Christian, a vintage-lover, a thrift shop aficionado, and have never met a piece of chocolate I didn’t like (except with fruit in it *shudder*).
Psychology and mental health are ongoing themes in my books and life. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and have worked as a professional freelance writer for the past 16 years.
Why I Think You’ll Like It Here
My newsletters include literary things, especially in the suspense/thriller, mystery, and horror genres. If you follow me on Instagram, you’re likely up-to-date with my current reading obsessions, too. I also love exploring faith and how it relates to these genres. Things like old graveyards, legends, handwritten letters, gothic castles, and secret staircases all get my heart pounding.
So, grab a cozy blanket and a cup of tea or coffee, and let’s get chatting about all things bookish.
*Quick note about paid subscriptions: Paid subscriptions are available here on Substack, but are not mandatory. For now, at least, you can read all my articles free of charge.
However, if you’d like to support my work, please buy me a coffee or purchase one of my full-length books. Every single dollar of support encourages me on my writing journey. Thanks for being here!
